Avondhu Blackwater has teamed up with Fermoy library to develop “The Open Door”, an exciting new initiative where various community events will take place in the library’s meeting room, which is a perfect size for small to medium size events. The library is also in an ideal location near the town centre and with good parking nearby.

The initiative which was launched on Thursday November 22nd began with a one hour talk by local man Christy Roche on the British Military in Fermoy and the War of Independence in the Fermoy area. Other events included an Information Session for anyone looking to re-train in a new area or looking to upskill for employment.

Avondhu Blackwater is also interested in hearing from anyone looking to set up or get involved with craft groups. The Open Door will return in the coming weeks, keep an eye on your local news!  For more information, contact Marie O’Brien, Avondhu Blackwater on 025 – 33411.
