The Coca‑Cola Thank You Fund is designed to help more people to get active in 2014. In its fourth year, the Thank You Fund is once again investing €125,000 in charity projects with innovative ideas to get people moving through sport and activity-based programmes.
In 2014, we’re awarding five Irish non-profit organisations €25,000 each to put towards initiatives that get more people moving in communities across the island of Ireland.
The Thank You Fund was launched in 2011 to mark The Coca‑Cola Company’s 125th anniversary and over the past three years, we’ve donated €375,000 through a total of 37 grants.
What is this year’s theme?
In 2014, Coca‑Cola Ireland will be rewarding five organisations that have developed an innovative approach to getting people moving through sport and physical activity.
We’re looking for new projects and ideas that will capture the public’s imagination and provide significant benefits to a group of people or community. Ideally, the succesful projects could be scaled and adopted by communities in other parts of the country. This year, our partners are The Federation of Irish Sport and The Northern Ireland Sports Forum.
How will the be allocated in 2014?
This year, the Thank You Fund is taking a different approach to previous years and will be awarding five organisations equal grants of €25,000 each.
Applications will be accepted from 9am, 2 May until 6pm, 16 June 2014. Once applications have closed, a panel of judges will choose a shortlist of 12 organisations.
These 12 organisations will then go forward to the next phase, which will involve presenting their ideas in further detail to the panel of judges. Each of the 12 organisations will have to present a 10-minute pitch to the judges about their project and why they think they should receive the funding, followed by a further 10-minute Q&A session with the panel. The shortlisted organisations will be required to submit photos and video material of their project at this stage of the application process.
Following the pitch phase, the judges will decide on the five winners and make the announcement in October 2014.
