Celestial Green Ventures, an environmental conservation company based in Ireland, is pleased to announce the launch of their Social Funding Programme, aimed at helping small projects and start-ups all over the Republic of Ireland make a difference in their communities. Although their primary concern is the protection of the Amazon and sustainable development for the local communities there, the work carried out by Celestial Green Ventures in Brazil has served to reinforce the importance of local programmes in tackling major issues. It is for this reason that they have decided to offer financial support to 4 separate projects, to the tune of €5,000 each.
All charities, not-for-profit, and community based organisations that are registered in the Republic of Ireland are eligible to apply for funding through the programme. Given their corporate objectives, they are particularly interested in assisting projects that have a strong social & environmental purpose, although applications are welcomed from all project types. Ultimately however, the programme is looking for creative, talented, and driven individuals with an innovative & unique solution to problems faced by people or communities in Ireland.
Applications
Those hoping to benefit from the support of the Social Funding Programme can make an application up to and including the 16th of May 2014. Applicants can submit as many entries as they like, but cannot be awarded support for more than one.
The application process itself should hold no surprises: applicants are required to provide a short description of their proposal, along with project goal’s, plans, reasons to select their project, a complete breakdown of estimated costs, and any other supporting information.
The winners will be selected by a panel composed of Celestial Green Ventures employees and guest judge Noel Griffin, former CEO of the ISPCA. The review period will take place over the two weeks following the closing date for applications, with the successful applicants being announced on the 30th of May. Funds will then be awarded on the 6thof June 2014.
