The Use Of Soft Skills in Retail Training

RetailSkills2013Avondhu Blackwater Partnership Ltd. is pleased to announce a new training initiative designed to improve staff effectiveness, advance customer relations and maximise sales.  The training will be of particular benefit to people in the retail sector and will also be of interest to people in any business or social enterprise. The course is also ideal for start-up businesses and established businesses looking to rejuvenate.

The training is being offered as a one day course for managers and staff of customer orientated businesses within the Avondhu catchment area.  The aim of the course is to give participants a greater understanding of how to deal with customers and colleagues more effectively.  Excellent communication skills are a must in what is becoming an increasingly challenging economy.

Modules on the day include:

Retail, an Overview – An introduction to the psychology of buying and retail models

Brand Awareness – An introduction to the concept of ‘Brand’, and how to appropriately represent your company’s brand to your customers.

Effective Retail Selling – An exploration of the required knowledge, skills & attitude required to identify the needs of the customer and to maximise all selling opportunities.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills – This module is about communicating in a positive and effective manner towards customers, and representing your company in a personal and professional manner.

Good Customer Service – An introduction to the fundamentals of good customer service and how customer relations and company reputation go hand in hand.

Dealing Effectively with Customer Complaints – Helping participants to effectively handle customer complaints.  This interactive module aims to equip participants to identify the core of the customer’s complaint through effective questioning and active listening.

Team Ethic & Working Relationships – The primary aim of this part of the day is to encourage participants to work at their relationships within the workplace and to equip them to play their part in creating a friendly, professional working environment.

Personal Effectiveness – This module aims to equip participants with a range of skills, knowledge and habits to work effectively and to proactively seek out learning opportunities for further self development.

This training initiative is LEADER funded and is FREE of charge to all participants.  Places are limited and advance booking is essential.  The course will run from 9:30am to 5pm on the following dates:

Monday March 4th – Fermoy – The Grand Hotel

Tuesday March 5th – Mallow – GAA Complex

Wednesday March 6th – Blarney – Woollen Mills
