We are pleased to announce that entries are now being accepted for the 2012 Better Together Video Competition and Ireland’s Charity Hero Award!

Do you already have a video on Youtube, Vimeo or BlipTV? Then you can simply submit the link.

Alternatively, you can upload your video file directly to our website. And remember, your video must be two minutes or shorter.

All you need to nominate your Charity Hero is to ensure that your Hero does their charity work in a strictly voluntary capacity and that you have their permission before nominating them.

Submit your video now or nominate your Charity Hero.

What Happens Next?

Between 24th September and 19th November we will be asking the public to vote for their favourite videos and Charity Heroes. Last year over 120,000 people visited the website during the campaign and 97,000 votes were cast. You should rally your supporters to get involved at that point too – click here for tips on how to mobilise your supporters to vote for your entry.

The 30 videos with the most votes will be shortlisted in three organisational categories (big, medium and small/voluntary) and the winners in each category will receive a €3,000 prize! The ten Charity Heroes with the most votes will also be shortlisted, and the judges will pick an overall winner who will receive €1,000 for their cause. The winners will be announced at the Better Awards on 6 December 2012.

This is your opportunity to show Ireland why your cause matters!

Haven’t started your video yet? Don’t worry, you have until 5 November to submit your videos and Charity Hero nominations. But the sooner you submit, the better your chances! Get started today by downloading our free guide to making your own video (PDF).
