Open Night for all Artists in North Cork

Artists and craft workers from all over North and East Cork are being invited to an open night in Fermoy to discuss the possibility of creating a dedicated craft umbrella group to represent the different artistic strands in the region.

The open night seeks to cover topics such as development of an organisational structure, devising membership criteria, organising regular meetings, grant applications for publicity material and exhibition curation, building relationships with funding organisations, designing and building a website, drafting a constitution and the adoption of a patron.

The night will be chaired by renowned craftworker and photographer Ben Russell, who developed the successful West Cork Craft and Design Guild, and Mairead McCorley co-founder of East Cork Creates, member of the Tayte Cooperative Gallery Clonakilty and coordinator of Cork Craft Month 2012.

The open night will be held at the offices of Avondhu Blackwater Partnership, The Showground’s in Fermoy on Monday May 14th at 7.30pm. Please contact Cathal O’ Meara or Alan Buckley at 025 33411 for further information or to confirm your place.
