Fermoy Tidy Towns and Avondhu Blackwater Partnership undertook a bat box project with 3rd year students from Colaiste an Chraoibhin. At the start of this project Jim Wilson from Bat Conservation Ireland (http://www.batconservationireland.org) came to give a short presentation about the importance of box boxes, particularly along our rivers. The students who had built several bat boxes earlier, were installed in the trees along Barnane.
