Honda enthusiasts will converge in the village of Castletownroche, North Cork at 11am on Sunday July 3rd where they will have an opportunity to impress onlookers with their beloved vintage beauties. They will take part a Honda run to raise funds for a telephone befriending and handyman programme for older people which is being delivered by Blackwater Community Connect in the Avondhu/Blackwater area. Owners will have a chance to prove that age is no obstacle for these wondrous machines to perform and participants will sign-in at 11am at the ‘Car Boot Sale Site’ in Castletownroche and the run is expected to begin at noon. Cost per participant is €20 and bike stickers will be available for all entrants. A raffle will take place after the run when food will also be available. The Festival committee will also present participants with a plaque at around 5pm as they parade their machines in the ring.
The Bike Run will be held in conjunction with the Castletownroche Steam Rally Vintage & Threshing Festival which includes the All Ireland Ferguson Heritage Vintage Rally. Vintage cars, vintage tractor engines and miscellaneous items as well as full working demonstrations, cutting corn with reaper and binder and combine harvester will take place. Threshing, cutting hay, cutting silage with single chop harvester, making clap of silage with buck-rake and lots more activities as well as activities for young & old, car boot sale, amusements for children and helicopter pleasure flights. It’s a fun day-out for all the family!
