Avondhu Blackwater Partnership Ltd is the Local Development Company in the Fermoy/Mallow/Blarney area and has recently announced that they are seeking applicants for the Rural Social Scheme.
This scheme aims to provide income support for Farmers and Fishermen who are currently in receipt of long-term social welfare payment, through the use of Community based Work Programmes.
To participate, an individual must have a herd number and be in receipt of Farm Assist, Jobseekers Allowance, Jobseekers Benefit (if previously on a Community Employment Scheme) or on the RSS and that their term ceased within the last 12 months.
One-Parent Family Payment, Widow(er)s Pension (Contributory or Non-contributory), Disability Allowance, Adult Dependents of Non-Contributory State Pensioners who themselves are under 66 years of age and the dependent spouse of a person qualified will also be eligible to participate in the scheme as an alternate.
Applicants will work 19.5 hours per week and these hours will be based on a farmer/fisherperson-friendly schedule. Avondhu Blackwater Partnership is currently seeking applicants for a waiting list to fill vacancies as they arise.
