Fermoy Town Park will be transformed into a spectacular winter wonderland this month, as plans, which includes a TV advertising campaign, continue to ensure the event brings as many people as possible into Fermoy over the three day period.
The project will be delivered in conjunction with an extensive marketing initiative to promote the region and the festive season. This will include an advertising campaign to be broadcast on RTE television in the run up to Christmas.
The event which takes place from Friday, December 17 to Sunday 19, has substantial backing from Avondhu Blackwater Partnership. There will be covered access, so rain, hail or snow, Christmas is definitely coming to Fermoy!
FANTASTIC EVENT
Valerie Murphy CEO of Avondhu Blackwater Partnership told The Avondhu “It is going to be a fantastic event, great for the local area and Avondhu Blackwater Partnership is delighted to be supporting it.”
The rural transport programme will organise park and ride facilities at the main access points to the town and people will be dropped directly to and from the town park free of charge.
The bus, owned by Avondhu Blackwater Partnership will be used for the event along with local operators who will be contracted for the weekend. The users of the rural transport programme and Blackwater Community Connect will be informed of the festival and transport will be provided for them and their families and friends to the event.
The economic benefits associated with this kind of event are very significant and diverse for the host town.
Avondhu Blackwater Partnership told The Avondhu that they would ensure that the traders of Fermoy town and the surrounding area derive as much economic benefit as possible from this event.
