Career Focused Training Courses

Avondhu Blackwater Partnership Ltd has teamed with Chevron Training and is now offering a number of renewable energy training courses to people wishing to up-skill and develop expertise in renewable energy & green technologies. The training is being provided for those individuals who have experience in the construction sector and those with traditional trades who now find themselves unemployed, underemployed or facing redundancy or job insecurity.

The overall aim is to facilitate individuals to re-direct their existing skills from the declining construction sector to the more opportunistic and growing renewable sector.  We aim to match the skills and experience of each individual with the training offered in order to ensure that that maximum benefits for each individual is achieved. Three courses are being offered:

Rainwater Harvesting a three day course held from Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th of November in Fermoy.

Water Meter Installation a four day course held from Monday 6th to Thursday 9th of December in Fermoy.

Solar Thermal Installation a three day course held from Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th December in Togher, Cork City

Avondhu Blackwater Partnership is the integrated LEADER Partnership Company for North County Cork and the organisation was incorporated in June 2008, following the strategic integration of Blackwater Resource Development and Avondhu Development Group. Currently, the organisations core responsibilities include the delivery of the Rural Development Programme (RDP), Local Community Development Programme (LCDP formerly known as LDSIP), the Rural Transport Programme, Community Connect and the Rural Social Scheme.

Funding is available from Avondhu Blackwater Partnership for eligible applicants.
