Avondhu Blackwater Partnership operate their Integration Project “Information and Advocacy Service” on an outreach basis for immigrants living in Mallow and the surrounding hinterlands on Mondays and Tuesdays from the Le Chéile FRC Community Campus. The Information and Advocacy service deals with queries on Social Welfare, Immigration, Employment and Education for Immigrants.
There are Bi-lingual information clinics that operate on Tuesdays from 4pm-8pm by appointment only for Polish nationals. The aim of the project is to meet the needs of Immigrants living in North Cork through information, advocacy and capacity building. The service includes:
- Information and Advocacy service for individuals who are experiencing difficulties with employment, immigration, social welfare, education and other more general queries. Support with Work Permits, Long Term Residency and Citizenship applications, Support with filling out application forms, applying for visas etc.
- Community Integration Activities- opportunites are offered to become involved in local integration activities such as: Family Sports Days, Soccer Tournaments, Food Fairs, Cultural Days etc
- Access to English Language Classes
- Anti-racism and Effective Communication Training
The Project covers all of North Cork this would include Mallow, Fermoy, Blarney and 35 rural communities. The service is confidential and free. If you wish to make an appointment to see Norma Roche Project Co-ordinator please contact her on 086-8525992.
